Dr. Olga L. Sarmiento, Professor, Universidad de los Andes, Colombia
Dr. Olga L. Sarmiento is an Associate Professor of Public Health at the School of Medicine at Universidad de los Andes and a Principal Investigator on the SALURBAL Project. She is the director of the Epidemiology Group at Universidad de los Andes and a board member of ISUH and the International Society of Physical Activity and Health and the Global Advocacy for Physical Activity (GAPA) council. Dr. Sarmiento’s current research interests include physical activity, nutrition, and built environment interventions among populations in Latin America. She holds an M.D. from the Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá and an M.P.H. and a Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
